Digital Library

Institute has a very good digital library with 4mbps dedicated line. Library has INDEST membership through which 256 international journals can be downloaded. There are 25 PC’s exclusively for browsing. The digital library is making use of KOHA opensource software for its maintenance. The library is also having NPTEL resources of India’s Premier Institutes like IITs & IISc.

In addition it has VTU E-Learning Center with EDUSAT & E-VIDYA. The library makes use of Caliber E-Book management Software.

Digital library is an electronic collection of real or virtual resources.  Digital technology, Internet connectivity and physical content can be dovetailed resulting in Digital Library. Data available in physical form can be preserved digitally in Digital Library. Digital Libraries have the ability to enhance access to information and knowledge. They also Bridge barriers of time and space. Student can access all E – Resources through the digital library.
